This website/blog is the culmination of my family’s love for Walt Disney World and Central Florida in General. We chose the Dad’s point of view simply because there was a lack of helpful sites for the Dads out there.
While for the most part the Moms seem to be the organizers, planners, packers, reservation makers, phone call makers and the like, the Dads should have a place to feel comfortable too. Our intention is to provide a nice relaxing site to learn and explore about Disney at your own leisure. Although we will have some of the foo foo princess stuff, basically we want to help ease the stress of a Disney vacation in general. We also know that there are many instances where there may be a Dad’s only trip in the works and in such a case the Dad might need extra help.
Our blogs and content will be filled with useful tips and tricks for the entire family based in part on the fact that we will have a host of special contributors. Melissa (my wife of 17 years and high school sweetheart and the creator of this here website) will be a major contributor, as well as my son Jacob, age 8, my daughter Caitlyn, age 9, and to round out the team my mother Nancy (age not disclosed at her request) also known as “grandma tag-a-long”.
With their help and our special guest contributors, we will keep this site freshly updated and fun for the whole family. We also hope to evolve this blogsite to a community of sorts where folks can share ideas, trick, and experiences. We will also be working with our friends in the Disney family to help provide members with special discounts and accommodation packages as well as discounts for central Florida hot spots and Disney alternatives.
We will also be providing pictures, links, and info relating to our other two favorite things- RVs and Custom Golf Carts. These two things go hand in hand while staying at our favorite campground in the world. I can tell you for sure that the memories made staying in our RV or cruising around the campground on our Golf Cart while at Fort Wilderness are among the most precious to us. Still to this day when we pull out of the campground and head for home there’s not a dry eye in the house…err RV.
This site will also have posts areas for things like “twitter updates”, “tip of the day”, “WDW trivia”, “weather”, “WDW news”, etc. So stop back from time to time and follow us on twitter at @DISNEY4DADS where we will post our updates, subscribe to our rss feeds or to our daily email updates, or fan us at Facebook and Myspace. You can also email us your thoughts, videos, pictures, and blog articles for posting in the community areas of the site. If you have questions, email them to admin@disney4dads so we can answer them , and if we don’t know we can most certainly find out for you. After all, that’s what friends are for.
